New Factory is a San Francisco-based design studio and workshop founded by Yvonne Mouser and Adam Reineck. The studio works on a variety of projects spanning product and furniture design, packaging, brand strategy, interiors, and visual design; often collaboratively with the diverse group of creative people in our network.
Yvonne Mouser
Yvonne Mouser is an artist, designer, and builder whose work focuses on creating everyday objects that tell a story through their function and sculptural works that capture moments of change.
Yvonne works in San Francisco as co-founder of New Factory, as an independent designer of custom furniture and objects, and as a food and design collaborator with Thought for Food where she focuses on the artifacts and experiences of eating.
Her work is included in private collections, and has been exhibited internationally and throughout the Bay Area including the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Design, the Museum of Craft and Folk Art, COPIA, and the Headlands Center for the Arts.
In 2006 Yvonne received her BFA with high distinction from the California College of the Arts, in 2005 she was a recipient of the Ron and Anita Wornick Award Scholarship and in 2010 was awarded as an Artist in Residence at Anderson Ranch Art Center.
Adam Reineck
Adam Reineck, co-founder of New Factory, is an industrial designer with a wide range of skills and interests. His passion for design and an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving have taken him all over the world and include projects across multiple industries. He has expertise in product design, service design, brand strategy and social innovation.
Adam worked in the design and innovation consultancy IDEO from 2005 to 2013. During his 8 years at IDEO as a principal designer and project leader, he worked on challenges as diverse as defining the elite athlete experience for Nike, to building a strategy to help Americans become more energy efficient for the Department of Energy. He was also involved in many of IDEO's first major projects in Asia, and has worked extensively with Samsung, LG, Hyundai, and Hakuhodo in China, Korea and Japan.
In 2012 Adam joined IDEO.org (a non-profit design consultancy) as a Fellow during their foundation year. During this year he worked in Ghana to design new sanitation services in collaboration with Unilever and Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor, led teams in Mexico developing new low-income financial services with CGAP (a division of the World Bank), and designed ultra low cost medical devices currently being tested in Uganda and India.
Adam's work has been published in Fast Company, BBC, Wired, Cell Magazine, and the New York Times, and he has received awards from entities including IDEA, ID Magazine, Red Dot, and iF.
